Guest Ratings & Reviews
The hotel offers very spacious and comfortable rooms that were better than some 4-star hotels I've stayed in before. However, there were some cobwebs on the ceiling and around the window with a token dead spider. The service was attentive, especially with great communication from the staff, although they faced challenges due to the clientele. The location is excellent, just a 5-minute stroll to Ponds Forge and conveniently close to various attractions. The dining experience, while having home-made jams, had room for improvement, particularly in terms of pricing. Overall, it's a good value for money stay with some minor issues to consider.
The hotel has bright, nice, and warm rooms with comfortable beds and crisp sheets, but poor ventilation; the place is reasonably quiet. The service was polite, friendly, though a bit careless at times. The location is great for a short walk into the town center. The dining experience was decent; the buffet style had some disappointing breakfast options. The facilities were well-maintained and good quality.
The hotel is really close to the city centre and convenient for a night out at Tank nightclub, just a 5-minute walk away. The room was spacious for the three of us, but it was too hot even with the window open at 14.40. The staff were not the friendliest and weren't too helpful with parking since the hotel car park was full. However, they were really friendly and welcoming, especially catering to reduced mobility guests. The location is great for everything you could need in the area but had some issues with homeless people near the benches in the early morning and evening. The dining experience was okay, nothing special, so it's best to get there early for freshness. The homemade ice-cream was a nice touch. Facilities were decent overall, and the price was reasonable considering the value for money.
The hotel's location is its biggest plus, being within walking distance to Sheffield's center with bars and restaurants, and it's the most affordable among city center hotels. The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds and pillows, although they were a bit warm with no air conditioning. The service was really helpful and friendly, despite limited parking. The location is perfect if you want something close to the town center, but not ideal for finding nearby restaurants. Dining was very good value with excellent food, yet limited breakfast options available. Overall, a good choice for its location and service, though room temperature could be improved.
